The 4-1-1

It's like I said before, things have been crazy 'round here. I have been enjoying all the social time, work events, traveling, but it has left me with lots to share. I guess I will do this bullet style and save most the details to not bore you.
  • I just got back from a week long work trip to Memphis. It was my first event with work and I am thrilled it was a success. Being the new kiddo aboard it was nice to put names and faces together with all my new coworkers.
  • I am on my way and training for my 5th half marathon at the end of the month. I should be up to 10 miles, but I have been sick, hurt my knee, (more excuses) etc, so I have done 8 miles.
  • We are getting a new roof tomorrow :) and I am super excited! (Does this mean I am a grown-up when I get excited about roofing?)
  • Still maintaining the 9lb weight loss, but since working out again I am seeing inches come off. Not ready to post before and after pictures. I am sure they will come along soon.
Lastly, my little brother (the youngest of the three boys) gave me a special surprise. He recently became an Eagle Scout, which takes a lot of services hours, determination, and support of peers, parents, and leaders. I am so proud he got this at the age of 15 when most get it their Senior year of highschool.
A few weekends ago Jonathan and I went to his ceremony. My parents did an amazing job putting it together and I was so proud of them all (it's an accomplishment for them too). Towards the end my brother made a speech (that he wrote) and honored people he said helped mentor him along the way. I started to tear up when I was the last person he called up there and pinned me as his mentor. I am still so touched and get teary-eyed just thinking about it.
Congrats John!

  1. My mother refers to my brother's Eagle Scout Ceremony as his "wedding". Ha! I guess it does take as much planning as a wedding! :) It is quite an honor and I can see why you are so proud, that's awesome that he picked you as his mentor!

  4. HI Katie
Good to hear you are enjoying your new job and feeling positive about it. Well done on the fitness and look forward to hearing how you go on your marathon - would love to do one, but would need some training! Congrats to your brother, a great acheivement, and very special to hear him honor you as a mentor.

  5. The excitement you are expressing over the fact that you are getting a new roof does mean you’re a grown-up :) But there is nothing wrong with that (I am still excited over the fact that I have a KitchenAid standmixer :) )

    ps. Congrats to John!

    Have a happy Easter,
